Symposium on Preservation 2006 The Institute for the Desert Arabian's second annual symposium held in Cave Creek AZ from Feb 17 - 19 2006 focused on "Assessing Breeding Quality in the Desert Arabian Horse."
The Symposium concluded on Sunday with Dr. John Shelle's presentation of a breeding value model developed at Michigan State University. Monday the 20th many of us spent the day at the Scottsdale show watching the Sport Horse classes as well as a wide spectrum of other classes. Plans are already underway for next year's Symposium again to be held in Scottsdale the first weekend of the show! Don't miss it!
SHOW NEWS!!! Ibn Sabbah Bedu+/ is a very proud Dad! Two of his Straight Babson sons competed in the 2005 Region 9 Championship Show in the Sport Horse events held in Texas. Serr Sotamm (x Almoraima Alegria) was the Reserve Champion and a Top 5 in Training Level test 4 Open and a Top 5 in First Level test 4 Open. He is owned by Elaine Yerty and ridden by Kelli. Photos of Serr Sotamm. Mah Sabbah Bedu (x Bint Roulett) is co-owned by Susan Mayo and Keith Kosel. Mah Sabbah Bedu earned Top 5 honors in Sport Horse in Hand Amateur shown by Keith. He will start his dressage show career very soon. More on Mah Sabbah Bedu. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL! A new Farm Story, Sweet Lips! has been added following the visit from a local 4H group. Show News! Mah Sabbah Bedu, (Ibn Sabbah Bedu+/ x Bint Roulett) now 4 years old, made his class A show debut for owners Susan Mayo and Dr. Keith Kosel at the Cowtown Classic in Texas on March 18, 2005. He was shown in the Sporthorse in Hand classes by co-owner Keith Kosel. Mah Sabbah won his Sporthorse in Hand classes in both the Amateur and Open divisions. He was awarded the High Point Purebred Sporthorse in Hand for the Amateur division. Photos coming soon!! After the classes Susan rode him around the show grounds, through dark tunnels into the brightly lit indoor arenas with bright white walls and hundreds of red seats up to the sky, around the stable areas and in general showed him the sights and sounds of a busy horse show. He seemed to enjoy the whole experience. We are very proud of all of them!!! 2005 Symposium on Preservation Are you thinking of coming to the 2005 Scottsdale show?
