Ashkar was something of a Comet, a beautiful bright shooting star that shone, sparkled and thrilled but too quickly died, leaving one still intently gazing at the darkness, thinking of the glow of what was.

 I am missing my golden colt, my friend.

Charabs Sharifa had a handsome chestnut colt by Bedu Sabir on February 5, 2005 just before sunset.  His arrival added another to our day time foaling history of 16 out 19 mares foaling during the day.  

We lost Ashkar to a fast moving virus at almost nine months old.  He is a great loss to us as well to the Babson gene pool.  He was a rare and special colt.

This colt was destined to bring the Khebir sireline forward another generation.  He was the first Babson colt of that sireline to be born in the last 18 years.  Sadly once again there is only one Straight Babson sireline Khebir stallion, his sire Bedu Sabir.
