Straight Babson Stallion
Ibn Saafaddan had a long legged Fay-el-Dine type of elegance. He moved with a long stride, a horse who was going somewhere. He had big soft eyes with a touch of mischief. Ibn Saafaddan was a rare Babson without *Maaroufa, Ibn Fa-Serr or Fabah in his pedigree. He was of the rare Faddan sire line and traced to Faddan through both his sire and his dam. His maternal grandsire Daaldan was by Faddan and traced to 1932 Babson import *Bint Bint Durra through his dam Fay Dalla. Daaldan is the only source we have in Straight Babson Egyptians (SBE) for *Bint Bint Durra. |

Ibn Saafaddan sired 16 foals of which 6 are SBE. Of those 6 only Masada Fadanna, Almoraima Ceniza and Almoraima Neblina have bred on in the SBE population. But the good news is these 3 daughters have left 11 1st generation and 16 more beyond that. That adds up to 33 SBE descendents as of 2008. Ibn Saafaddan has also a strong influence in the rare Babson/Sirecho Sheikh Obeyd bloodgroup. | |
His influence in our Bint Al Bahr Babson herd is through Almoraima Ceniza, Rabdans Serraniza, Dahma Saafada, Ahmed Serr-Fabah, Ahmed Fabo, Serr Ibn Sabbah, Serra Sereneh, and Serra Khedena.
